I am a thyroid cancer survivor (2009) and have been a patient of Dr. Mathews since 2014. After moving to South Carolina in 2011 from Dallas, I went through several endocrinologists without finding one that exhibited the focus, experience and energy to serve my health needs. After researching, I was incredibly fortunate to find Dr. Mathews. I travel over two hours, one-way, to see him in Summerville. He has truly been a life saver for me--and that is not an exaggeration. In my opinion, he is the best endocrinologist in the region, and I highly recommend him.

Very polite and helpful staff. Dr. Matthews was thorough and was able to communicate so when I left my appointment I had a very clear understanding of the diagnosis and treatment plan.

Jennifer Wilkie is the BEST. She listens to you and makes sure she explains everything to you. She is so encouraging and understanding. I would definitely recommend her.

Dr. Matthews and his staff were amazing. They did everything they could to keep me calm during my thyroid biopsy. They explained in detail what was going to be done and what to expect after. No stone was left unturned. Overall, I had a wonderful experience for a procedure that I was very nervous about.

The entire practice bends over backwards to assure the patient receives everything they need. I have received phone calls at 8:30 pm just to follow up on all my needs. Not only do they care they go above board to meet your needs.

after some initial difficulty scheduling ( my primary care doctor's fault) I got in quickly..they were very accommodating. Dr. Matthews and his staff were so kind and friendly and he took so much time with me explaining everything. A great 1st visit experience

Fantastic. Very informative. Dr Matthews was very thorough concerning the future handling of my diabetes. He allowed me sufficient time for me to share my status & concerns about different medical issues I'm dealing with. I look forward to future appointments & the continued strategies needed for me.

I travel from Columbia to see Dr. Mathews and his team. Everyone is great and very professional. I have been seeing Dr. Mathews for at least 4 years now and so glad to have found him! I know that I am getting the best of care and it is definitely worth the trip to see him!

Dr. Matthews is wonderful. I’ve been going to him for four years. He is monitoring my Thyroid. I trust him completely. He is intelligent, attentive and caring and has a great manner about him. I travel 2 1/2 hours each way to see him because I know he will keep watching the changes in my Thyroid and keep me in the best condition.

Gosh, where do i start! Years ago I was just miserable! Uncontrollable Weigh gain, fatigue, hair loss, among many other complaints! This just caused me to just feel so bad all the time! I just felt like no matter what I did, nothing worked! Then, I was sent to Dr. Matthews by my primary care Doctor!
My life changed for the better that day! Dr. Matthews did the right test, and kept working until he had the answers and the correct medication to make me feel like my old self! I look and feel better than I have in many years!
Dr. Matthews certainly made my life better!

Dr.Mathews was VERY informative, I went in not knowing exactly what was going on with me but without me even having to ask him, he explained everything in very easy to understand details. He made me feel 100% comfortable talking to him and discussing things. He smiled, was thorough, and was very pleasant for the entire appointment. Thank you for accepting me as a patient.
